"It's Not About Your Product"

  1. One thing I've learned is that businesses have to make it easy for consumers to promote and or condemn their products or services. Open Forum is a great example of a company building a community of customers and prospective customers while giving them an opportunity to build user generated content and openly express their interest without overtly driving their product/service down the consumers throat.

    Too often companies take the opportunity of building customer centric forums but turn that opportunity into a sales pitch. That isn't what the consumer always wants.

    The key is providing relevant information to build engagement and awareness. This continuous engagement and awareness by businesses will eventually lead to trust and in-turn trust will either lead to customer acquisition and/or customer loyalty.
