Thanks for your article.
ReplyDeleteAs a small business owner, I am always told that the best way to get free publicity is through Facebook and the number of "likes" you get on your posts.
However, as mentioned by professor Mary Roberts we don't know how to quantify likes. This article creates a good platform to quantify "likes". I wonder do different marketing agencies have similar metric results to quantify "likes" or does it depend of the products a company sells?
I would agree to this study.
ReplyDeleteI know I personally liked several brands on facebook just to get the latest sale news and coupons - first dibs are important sometimes. Then I liked several things because I was a fan, but this kind of dates back to when facebook had "groups", but since they eliminated groups, they replaced it with a universal "like".
To me, the "like" feature is one of the most important/integral functions of Facebook. Compared to the old fashioned way of signing up for newsletters via email, you can subscribe to an enormous amount of topics with just the simple click of the mouse. Whatever your purpose in liking something is, it's extremely fast and efficient.
